Contact names for .de domains may only contain letters, numbers, spaces, &, hyphens, dots, and accented characters.

A VAT number is required for .de domains when the contact is a company.

The registrant must verify their email address before a registration or transfer starts. When the registrant's details change, the registrant must verify them again before the change is sent to the registry.

The registry checks the nameservers before accepting the domain. Every nameserver must already answer for the domain. This is handled automatically when the domain uses hosted DNS.
